Loca Luna open in Corvallis

Loca Luna opened on 4/12/10, and they did well on their first night. It's worth a trip down there. Their menu is interesting, if a bit eclectic. I enjoyed their Ahi Poke, and the pork sliders. Yup, they have everything from sushi to a steak. Bring your pocketbook, since it's a bit pricey. Their located in the former Iovino's location in the Renaissance building.

"Cappies Brewhouse" will be opening in the old Wyatts in Alabany

I'd guess Cappies will be open in May or so. Stay tuned....

Wyatts rumors...

I keep hear rumors that Wyatts in Albany is going to reopen (under new owners, of course). Anyone have anything to add to that? Certainly hope they don't try the same menu/scene that the old Wyatts did just before they went belly up. How about a *decent* steak/seafood joint? Neither Albany nor Corvallis has a good locally owned steak/seafood restaurant. Hint: good business idea.

House of Thai Noodle and Momiji open in Albany

House of Thai Noodle and Momiji are now open in Albany. Of course, Thai Noodle is a Thai joint. Momiji is a Japanese Sushi place. Reports on both are good. Give them a try, and send your review to chowgeeks.com

First Burger in Albany is good...

First Burger has the best burger in Albany (sorry Calapooia). It's hard to get in, since it's quite popular. But, head on down and check it out if you can.

Corvallis Rumors:

Word has it that a Latino fusion joint is opening up in Iovino's most recent former location. Adam, formerly of Aqua, is part of this operation.

Also, rumor has it that a Vietnamese/Sushi joint will be opening in the former Michaels Landing location.

First Burger in Albany opened today.

Featured Restaurant of the Month: Joy's BBQ

Joy's is located in Bandon, OR. (2 miles south, actually) They have the best BBQ in the
state of Oregon. They are only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 8PM. Give

Flat Tail Brewing in Corvallis is open.

Initial reports are good. More to come.

Flat Tail: Current information says opening 2/23.

Can someone let us know when Flat Tail opens? We're hearing it will be this (2/15/10) week.

Bamboo diner closing, Burger joint to open

Unfortunately, Bamboo diner will be closing this Sunday (2/14/10). In it's place a burger joint will be opening sometime in the not-too-distant future. We'll miss Bamboo.

Woodsman?

Things must be quickly going downhill at the Woodsman. We rarely get so many negative comments in such a short period of time. That's a shame, since I kinda like the place.

Oops: Iovino's Correction!

Iovino's is not closing, they are *moving*. Originally we were told they we going to do just catering after the move, but according to their website, they will be offering reservation-only intimate dining. www.iovinos.com.

Rumor on what's going to replace Iovino's.

As we all know, Iovino's in Corvallis is closing on or near Valentine's day. Rumor has it a Latino-Fushion restaurant will be opening in it's place. We hear that two well-known local names are involved in this project. Stay tuned....
